The National anthem of Iceland is “Lofsongur” which means in English “Song of Praise”.
Iceland’s anthem lyrics were written by Matthias JOCHUMSSON and the music was written by Sveinbjorn SVEINBJORNSSON.
Adopted 1944; The Anthem, Also Known As “O, Gud Vors Lands” (O, God Of Our Land), Was Originally Written And Performed In 1874.
