It is possible to estimate the calories burned in racing on a mountain bike by using the MET data (Metabolic Equivalent of Task).
But weight is required in order to calculate calories burned.
I use Met Calculations for the following activity: bicycling, mountain, competitive, racing (MET= 16).
Calories are per 1 hour of activity(same for male or female).
(man/woman) weighing 50 kg = 800 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 55 kg = 960 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 60 kg = 960 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 65 kg = 1040 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 70 kg = 1120 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 75 kg = 1200 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 80 kg = 1280 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 85 kg = 1360 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 90 kg = 1440 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 95 kg = 1520 calories.
(man/woman) weighing 100 kg = 1600 calories.
