Letters to the Editor July 3

- Letter to the Editor,

The Hamilton Historical Commission is grateful to Ken-neth Miller and Kyle Phillips for their help in publicizing the Jon McConal program pre-sented as a part of the ongoing celebration of Hamilton County's 150 years of exis-tence. There was a good crowd as former Fort Worth Star Telegram reporter McConal presented a review of his latest book, "A Walk Across Texas."
Thank you also to the Women's Council for the use of the Fine Arts Center. This his-toric building has been beauti-fully renovated by the Woman's Council for the use of the citi-zens of Hamilton County. All are examples of "What a Home Town Should Be."
Jackson and Mickey Hill

Dear Editor,

The Hamilton City Pool would like to thank the Hamil-ton County Master Gardener Interns for the beautiful flower arrangements recently planted at the pool. We appreciate their help in creating a welcoming atmosphere at the pool this summer.

Dear Editor,

The Hamilton High School Cheerleaders would like to ex-press their appreciation to all of those who helped make Satur-day's car wash a complete suc-cess. A special thanks to Boyd Holley for graciously allowing us to use his facility each year.
With the support of the com-munity, we were able raise enough funds to greatly offset the costs associated with attend-ing camp. Thanks again to eve-ryone for making that possible.

The Leadership Hamilton
Experience

Have you ever sat back and thought about life and some of the curve balls it sometimes throws at you? I have recently had the opportunity to do that very thing. I did some reflect-ing on this past year and how great the community and peo-ple of Hamilton have truly been. I could not have asked for a better place to live than Ham-ilton, Texas.
I appreciate many things about this community and the opportunities that it has af-forded me and my family this past year. The privilege of working with the students at Hamilton High School has been wonderful. The honor of work-ing hand in hand with several local governmental agencies has been very insightful. The benefit of working alongside local business owners has been amazing. I could go on and on about the marvelous things that Hamilton, TX has offered me this past year.
The one thing I wanted to discuss today was the awesome experience I have had being a part of Leadership Hamilton. I admit that I was very skeptical when first approached about being a part of this organiza-tion. With a new job, a new baby, the challenge of buying a house and moving my family to Hamilton, and the fear of being totally overwhelmed by all of these things, you can see why I was very hesitant to agree to add one more thing to my al-ready tumultuous daily sched-ule. But I can tell you that I am very glad I did so.
Leadership Hamilton has helped me know more about Hamilton and its history. It has enabled me to network with many other people in various venues to discuss and share the vision we have for the city of Hamilton. This organization has allowed me to get to know some people who I consider lifelong friends. Leadership Hamilton embraces and fosters relationships between individu-als within the organization and the community so that visions become reality.
I cannot express how truly indebted I am to the Leadership Hamilton Board of Trustees for allowing me the opportunity to participate in this class and for the Leadership Hamilton Class of 2008 for putting up with me this year. This has been a re-markable experience that has brought about personal growth. I can honestly say that I am a better leader in this community and more knowledgeable about the community I live in because of Leadership Hamilton. I en-courage anybody who would like to make some enduring relationships with quality peo-ple who share a common vision for Hamilton, TX to sign up and be a part of Leadership Hamilton. I can speak from personal experience that you will not be disappointed.
