William Forrest McPherson
William Forrest McPherson, 90, of Hamilton, died June 1, 2008 in the Dove Hill Care Center in Hamilton. Funeral Services were held June 4 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Clark officiating. Burial was in the Pottsville Public Cemetery.
Mr. McPherson was born Oct. 21, 1917 in Pottsville, the son of Winsor Barton Sr. and Emma Clabaugh McPherson. He was married to Frances Rudd on May 13, 1939 in En-ergy.
He worked for many years for the U.S.D.A. in the Canyon, Dalhart and Floresville area before moving to the Hamilton office where he retired.
Mr. McPherson’s passion and hobby was breeding and raising registered quarter horses. He was a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Frances McPherson; four children, David R. McPherson and wife Mary of San Saba, Nancy McPherson of Salado, Winnie Marie Rawson and husband Fred of Clare-more, Okla., Rex McPherson and wife Susan of Poteet; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hallie Harrison, Emma Lou McPher-son and brother Winsor Barton McPherson Jr.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Wallace Rawson and one great-granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth McDrummond.
Pallbearers were Don Harri-son, Dale Harrison, Dwaine Brown, Danny Davis, Ronnie McKinney and Ken Luker.
Honorary Pallbearers were Paul Witzsche, E.J. Hierholzer and Cecil Kauitzsch.
