Peggy Wenzel
Peggy Wenzel, 82, of the Aleman community died May 22, 2008 in the Dove Hill Care Center in Hamilton. Funeral services were held May 24 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aleman with Pastor Meissner officiating. Burial followed in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery
Mrs. Wenzel was born May 25, 1926 in Vernon, the daughter of William and Pearl Chumney Neal. She was mar-ried to Melvin Wenzel in Ale-man in 1947.
Mrs. Wenzel was a home-maker and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ale-man.
Survivors include her hus-band,of Aleman; two children, Judy Bingham of Comanche and Larry Wenzel of Addison; three grandchildren, Josh, Jes-sica, and Janell Bingham; one sister, Irene Parrish of Temple, and one brother, M.A. Neal of Fort Worth.
Pallbearers were Gary Vo-ges, Josh Bingham, Chris Bot-tlinger, Roger Wenzel, Lee Roy Tyson and Tommy Faubion.

George Thompson
George Thompson, 78, of Hamilton, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 in the Hamilton Gen-eral Hospital. Funeral services were held June 3, 2008 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Harvey officiat-ing. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born March 10, 1930 in Clarendon, the son of Parmer and Cordelia Sowell Thompson. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 33 years. He was a career Marine and served dur-ing the Vietnam War. He re-ceived the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. Because of men like George we are all able to enjoy the freedom provided by their honor and duty to this great nation. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife Naomi, of Hamilton; five chil-dren, Mark Parmer Thompson of Hamilton, James Neil Thompson, Janet Susan Thompson and Laurie Anne Thompson, all of Garland, Katherine Elizabeth Thompson of Waco; his extended family of Koelling, Kent, and Kevin Wenzel and Kara Chorenziak and 11 grandchildren.
Full military honors were delivered to Mr. Thompson by the United States Marine Corp. He was carried to the grave by six of his fellow marines. Old Glory was folded and Tapps were played and another American hero was laid to rest.

William Forrest McPherson
William Forrest McPherson, 90, of Hamilton, died June 1, 2008 in the Dove Hill Care Center in Hamilton. Funeral Services were held June 4 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Pottsville Public Cemetery.
Mr. McPherson was born Oct. 17, 1917 in Pottsville, the son of Winsor Barton Sr. and Emma Clabaugh McPherson. He was married to Frances Rudd on May 13, 1939 in En-ergy.
He worked for many years for the U.S.D.A. in the Canyon and Dalhart area before moving to the Hamilton office where he retired. Mr. McPherson’s pas-sion and hobby was breeding and rearing registered quarter horses. He was a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include four chil-dren, David R. McPherson and wife Mary of San Saba, Nancy McPherson of Salado, Winnie Marie Rawson and husband Fred of Claremore Okla., Rex McPherson and wife Susan of Poteet, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: one grandson, Brian Wal-lace Rawson, and one grand-daughter, Sarah Elizabeth McDrumman.
