- Raymond C. Dragoo

Raymond C. Dragoo, 82, of Carlton, a land developer, rancher, and mechanic, died Oct. 10, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Oct. 13, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Fritscher officiating. Graveside service was at Laurel Land Memorial Park Cemetery in Ft. Worth.
Mr. Dragoo was born on Sept. 22, 1925, the son of Allen Crawford and Imogene (Mc Mickin) in Brady.
He was married to Betty Joy Walker on Sept. 18, 1948, in Ft. Worth. He was a Baptist. He was a Mason and a Shriner with the Ft. Worth Chapter.
Survivors include wife, of Carlton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Vikkie Dragoo of Mansfield and Jack and Christi Dragoo of Carlton,; five grandchildren, David Dragoo of Mansfield, Dewayne Dragoo of Mansfield, Tanya Dragoo of Burleson, Ashlee Dragoo of Carlton, and Andrew Jackson Dragoo of Carlton; and three great grandchildren, Bradley Dragoo of Mansfield, Kyle Dragoo of Mansfield, and Lilly Guntarick of Burleson.
He was preceded in death by one son, Cecil Dragoo on Jan. 7, 1973.

Leta Ireta Brummett

Leta Ireta Brummett, 91, died Oct. 11, 2007 at the Sterling County Nursing Home in Sterling City. Graveside services were held Oct. 13 at the Cottage Hill Cemetery in Hamilton with Mike Allen, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Hamilton officiating.
Mrs. Brummett was born on June 27, 1916 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Arthur and Leta Solomon. She was married to Garfield R. Brummett on July 24, 1932 in Hamilton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1978.
She and her husband farmed and ranched in Hamilton County until 1951. She moved to Big Spring from Pecos in 1965. She was a homemaker and a member of College Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lottie Crews and Ruth Louis and a brother, D.A. Solomon.
Survivors include a nephew and his wife, Tom and Ann Solomon of Houston as well as a cousin and her husband, Vernice and Robert H. “Bob” Moore of Big Spring.

Mary Charlene Gardner Pendergrass

Mary Charlene Gardner Pendergrass died on Oct. 12, 2007. Funeral services were held at Arlington Community Church on Oct. 15. Burial was in Hamilton.
She was a longtime resident of Irving before moving to Hamilton after retirement for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Gail Hoffman.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Jesse Monroe Pendergrass of Houston; a son, James Pendergrass of Cairo, Egypt; her son-in-law, J.E. ‘Gene’ Hoffman of Palestine; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and five brothers.
