Martha Mandy (Rowland)
Weathers
Martha Weathers, 94, died Jan. 2, 2008, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services were held Jan. 4 in Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating. Burial was in the Rowland plot of Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta.
Mrs. Weathers was born June 19, 1913, in Burns City, Cooke County, to Rev. Walter Pervia Rowland and Jewel Dallas (Mabry) Rowland.
She was married to Richard Omar Weathers on January 17, 1932. Her father performed the marriage ceremony in Marietta, Love County, Okla.
Mrs. Weathers was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and had been a resident of Marietta since 1967.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two step-mothers, and all of her children: a daughter, Virginia I. (Weathers) Cowley, and two sons, Ray Rowland Weathers and Jimmy Wayne Weathers; four brothers, William King Rowland, James Thaddeus Rowland, Pervia Ewin Rowland and Raymond Estol Rowland; and two sisters—Ivy Ethel (Rowland) Bragg and Julia Juanita (Rowland) Lester.
Grandchildren who survived her are Gerry L. Cowley, of Plains; Beverly (Cowley) Campbell, of Ardmore, Okla; Bobby K. Cowley, of Midland and D’Ann (Weathers) Herrod, of Gainesville, Fla. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Earl Cowley, of Odessa, and a daughter-in-law, Elreeta Weathers, of Hamilton; a brother, Roy Odel Rowland, of Cartwright, Okla.; and a sister, Nita Nadine (Rowland) Pressley, of Garland; three great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Casket bearers were Earl Cowley, Gerry Cowley, Beverly Campell, Bobby Cowley, D’Ann Herrod, Michelle Campbell, Neil Lester and Roy G. Rowland. Roy O. Rowland was an honorary casket bearer.

Ida Lou Blair
Ida Lou Blair, 80, of Hamilton died on Dec. 31, 2007 in the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 2 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Harold Massey officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born July 26, 1927 in Winters, the daughter of William and Gertrude Scott Puckett.
She was married to Harold Blair in San Angelo on June 8, 1946.
She is preceded in death by three sons.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Steve Blair and Ronald Blair, both of Hamilton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She and her husband were self-employed for many years in Hamilton owning several businesses. She was a member of Hamilton Calvary Baptist Church.

Hank Lee Simons
Hank Lee Simons, 50, of Evant, died Dec. 29, 2007. Graveside services were held Jan. 3 at the Cranfills Gap Cemetery.
He was born May 17, 1957 in Clifton, the son of Leon and Leona Roberts Simons. He was married to Linda Ann Perry in Leander on August 24, 1979.
Mr. Simons worked in Evant and Hamilton and Coryell Counties for many years where he was self employed. He was a member of the South Side Church of Christ in Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife, of Evant; his parents of Hamilton; two children, Mark Simons of Evant and Stefanie Vanderwood of Lampasas; four sisters, Judy Jarrell and her husband Robert of Leander, Reba Roese and her husband David of Leander, Joyce Windham and her husband Benny of Cedar Park and Doreen Ferrill and her husband Keith of Granite Shoals.

Linda M. Pierce
Linda M Pierce, 63, of Gustine, died Jan. 3, 2008. Funeral Services were held Sunday Jan. 6 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Calcote and Mike Allen officiating. Burial followed in the Energy Cemetery.
Mrs. Pierce was born July 15, 1944 in Bowie, the daughter of Marshall Carson and Beatrice Miller Carson. She was married to Jewel Robert Pierce Sr. in Dallas on Oct. 5, 1962.
She worked for many years in the food services business where she owned and operated her own restaurant. She was also a member of the Hilltop Baptist church.
Survivors include her husband, Jewel R. Pierce Sr.; her children, Jewel Pierce Jr. and his wife Mary Rebecca Ellison and her husband Shawn; grandchildren, Seth Pierce, Brittany Ellison, Kortney Short, Taylor Short, Sebastian Ellison and Heather Pierce; her sister, Sue Tucker and her husband Alton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearer were John Wilson, Todd Wilson, Taylor Short, Sebastian Ellison, Seth Pierce and David Short

Beatrice Irene McElreath Andrews died Jan. 2, 2008.
She was born on April 22, 1940, the daughter of Bill and Claudine McElreath in Laredo. She spent her childhood in Laredo, San Antonio and Temple due to work and circumstances in the family. While living in Temple, she had the opportunity to live in a pastor’s home where she became involved in the church as well as school activities.
She met Wendel Gilmore in 1956 in Temple and they were married.
Later in life Mrs. Andrews moved to Austin and was employed by HBO Time Warner for a number of years. In her spare time she enjoyed helping the less fortunate learn to read and write. She also loved fishing, going out to eat and being around people. She had a unique sense of humor.
The faith she learned growing up in a preacher’s home guided her throughout her life. As a Christian, she served as a member of the Billy Graham choir in the 1970s and attended First Church of the Nazarene in Temple for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Elgin Bruce McElreath.
Survivors include her younger sister, Billene McElreath and her four children, Bruce Gilmore and wife Juels of Haltom City; Shearin Bogan Thompson and husband James of Hamilton; Melody Vernon and her close friend Roy Newsom of Hamilton and Kevin Gilmore and wife Denette of Hamilton; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
