Charnie Raibourn
Charnie Raibourn, 92, of Hamilton, passed away Monday December 24, 2007 in the Hamilton Healthcare Center. Funeral Services were held Dec. 26, 2007 in the First Baptist Church of Hamilton with Rev. Keith Felton and Rev. Tim Moody officiating. Burial followed in the Old I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mr. Raibourn was on born August 30, 1915 in Hamilton County, oldest of the eight children of Edgar and Iula McClintock Raibourn. He was married to Aline Douglas at the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton on August 18, 1942.
He served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He was a medic in the European Theater for two years.
When Mr. Raibourn returned from the service, he and his wife bought a farm and he began his life-long career farming and raising livestock. He loved working the land and did so with a passion, but as much as he loved his farm, it was second to his love for his wife and family.
Mr. Raibourn was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Hamilton where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, three children, Douglas Raibourn and wife Sue of Orlando, Fla., Dan Raibourn and wife Kim of Hamilton and Shirley Lewis and husband Mike of Hamilton; three sisters, Charlie Dee Draper of McGregor, Edna Riley of Temple and Vada West of Pennsicola, Fla.; a brother, Clyde Raibourn of Waco; three grandchildren, Cory Raibourn and wife Stacy of Carlton, Juston Lewis and wife Ann of Hamilton, Sheila Ondrusek and husband Chad of Hamilton, Elizabeth Waller of Nashville, Tenn., David Brashears and wife Donna of Orlando, Fla; great-grand-children, Mattie Ondrusek, Peyton Raibourn, Raibourn Waller, Wyatt Waller and Donavon Brashears.

E.E. “Bunt” Mayer
E. E. “Bunt” Mayer, 71, of Comanche died Dec. 22, 2007 at the Comanche County Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Graveside services were held Dec. 24 on the family property adjacent to Board Church Cemetery with Brent Montgomery officiating.
Mr. Mayer was born August 3, 1936 in Hamilton County the son of the late O. A. “Jack” and Vivian Young Mayer. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force from 1954 until 1958 and later married Amy L. Faubion at Globe, Arizonia on October 16, 1959. He was self employed doing business as Mayer Appliance Service and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He had a love of music and especially loved playing with his family. His joys in life were his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Amy L. Mayer of Comanche, three daughters, Dana Conway of Brownwood, Fran Ferrell of Comanche and Dixie Mayer of Comanche; two brothers, Gary Mayer of Gore, Okla. and Randy Black of Kansas City, MO.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his mother, Vivian Black and his step-father R. V. Black.
Serving as pallbearers were: Logan Conway, Nolan Conway, Clint Ferrell, Darren Simpkins, Cliff Conway, and Mike Cole. Honorary pallbearers were Noe Gonzales, Eddie Thorton, Gary Cross.
Memorials are requested to be made to the American Red Cross.

Lester Glen Simpson
Lester Glen Simpson, 76, of Hico died Dec. 24, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at the Rutledge-Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Hico with Rev. David Keith officiating. Burial was at Hico Cemetery.
Mr. Simpson was born Jan. 3, 1931 in Hamilton. He lived in Hico for 20 years. He was a retired jeweler, a veteran of the Navy and a Baptist.
Survivors include his son, Blake Simpson of Joshua Tree, Calif.; a sister, Leona Box of Hamilton and two brothers, Gene Simpson of Stephenville and Earl Simpson of Morgan.

Mary H. Stiles
Mary H. Stiles, 90, died on Dec. 26, 2007 after a short illness. A funeral mass was set for Dec. 31 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Kingsville. Burial followed at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville.
Mrs. Stiles was born on August 25, 1917 in Poteet, the daughter of Anna Caroline and Alfonse Hooge. She lived in Hamilton for just over a year and for the three years prior at an independent living facility in in San Antonio.
She lived with her husband Leonard, who preceded her in death, in Kingsville for many years. Her family was the focus of her life. She served for an extended period of time on the board of the Santa Gertrudis Independent School District.
She was preceded in death by Joseph Leonard Stiles of Kingsville and a granddaughter, Susan C. Tansik of Tucson, Ariz.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Tansik and husband David of Tucson, Ariz.; Carolyn Gohmann and husband Bart of Florida and Ann Patton and husband James of Hamilton; two sons, Joesph L. Stiles Jr. and wife Kay of Riviera and David A. Stiles and wife Patricia of Jasper; five grandchildren, Heather Lynn Stiles of Scurry, Joseph L. Stiles III of Killeen, Mary Lee Stiles of Denton, David A. Sitles Jr. of Killeen and Justin Kirk Stiles of Riviera; a sister, Rosalie Allsup and husband Thomas of Bay City; two brothers, Paul Hooge and wife Kay of San Antonio and L.D. Hooge and wife Carole of Poteet as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
