- Lajuana F. Thomashide

Lajuana F. Thomashide, 58, of Hamilton died Oct. 25, 2007 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services were held Oct. 29 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Odessa with Rosco Seay and Cory Ward officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born August 1, 1948 in Cisco, the daughter of R.L. and Mary Lou Seay.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Thomashide of Hamilton; sons, Jim Bradley of Farmington, NM, James Thomashide of Wisconsin, Johnny Bradley of Hamilton; daughters, Sabrina Thompson of Hamilton, Lajuana Huff of Midland, Melissa Schwabenbauer of Wisconsin, Angela Page of Midland and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard (Rick) Nolte

Richard (Rick) Nolte, died Oct. 17, 2007 at his home in Pottsville. His body was cremated and a memorial service will be held Nov. 10 in Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marilyn and Aldine Nolte; a brother, Dewey Glenn Nolte and a sister, Theresa Sue Nolte.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Roz (Rosalind) Nolte of Pottsville; a son, Rich (Richard) Nolte and wife Sophia of Katy; a son, Kris (Kristopher) Nolte of Houston and step-daughter, Charlie (Charlene Barrera and husband Steve of Bellville; seven grandchildren, Reid, Blake and Nadia Nolte of Katy, Kaleb Nolte of Washington State and Corey, Holly and Haley Barrera of Bellville; five siblings, brothers, Stephen Nolte and wife Connie of Corpus Christi and Tim Nolte and wife Amy of Nashville, TN; sisters, Deborah Roberts and husband Pat of San Antonio and Katharine (Kit) Kensing and husband Kerry of Hamilton as well as “special” sister, Connie Beth Nolte of Hamilton as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Vena Waedekin

Vena Waedekin, 100, of the Shive Community, died Oct. 31, 2007 in the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services were held Nov. 4 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shive with Peter K. Anderson officiating. Burial followed in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. Waedekin was born August 16, 1907 in Burton County, the daughter of John and Alvina Rosentreter Zettler.
She was married to Ernest Waedekin. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a hard working farmer and rancher in the Shive area for many years. She was at her husband’s side every day to see that the farm ran well and was prosperous.
Mrs. Waedekin was a very active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shive.
Survivors include two sisters, Annie Nichter and Ella Wunderlich; two nieces, Frances Donahoo of Hamilton and Linda Bosse of Shive; four nephews, Alton Gromatzky of Chesterfield, PA, Vernor Gromatzky of Hamilton, Luther Nichter of Shreveport, LA. and Gary Nichter of Arlington.
