Fred Carlton Klutts
Fred Carlton Klutts age 86, long time resident and rancher in Hamilton, died August 14, 2007. He was born on March 23, 1921 in Dressy, Callahan Co., Texas to Carl and Jessie Long Klutts.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Benbrook. In the 1950’s he was Deputy Sher-riff of Hamilton County and served on the Pottsville School Board. For 20 years he served on the Board of Directors of the Production Credit Association.
Mr. Klutts farmed in Calla-han Co., worked in the Copper Mines in Bisbee Arizona then settled in Hamilton County where he ran a successful ranching operation until he retired in 1999. At that time he moved to Wheatland to be near the extended family he loved so much.
His greatest joy came from his relationship and time spent with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother; sisters, Goldia Edington and Wilda Edington; brother, Barney Klutts, and grandson Jeffrey Vick.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Wynell Nettleton Klutts; three daughters, Donna Vick, Paula Fuqua and husband Joe, Jan McKee and husband Danny and son Michael Kornegay and wife Judy; grandchildren, Sammy Vick, Russell Fuqua and wife Amy, Steven Fuqua and wife Tonya, Scott Fuqua, Nicole Minter and husband Stephen, Alexis McKee, Wendi Somage and husband Chris; his great-grandchildren, Channing and Brady Vick, Melinda and An-thony Fuqua, Sabrina and Courtney Fuqua, Kaylee Somage and many nephews and nieces.
His grandsons served as pallbearers. Funeral services were held at Riley Funeral Home in Hamilton August 18 with Dr. Todd Pylant officiat-ing. Burial followed at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Shive under the direction of Riley Funeral Home.
