- Virginia Rea Blom Sills
Virginia Sills died Thursday, July 5, 2007. She was born on October 31, 1925, in Hamilton to Emma Malinda (nee Rea) and John Andrew Blom. She was the youngest of four daughters. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith as a child and later was baptized again in the First Baptist Church of Carrollton. She was raised in Hamilton and graduated from Pottsville High School in 1944. She married Dr. Ashley Harold Sills in Comanche on December 31, 1943.
She is survived by her husband and three of their four daughters: Ann Stovall, June Miser, and Jane Childers. Malinda Lou Escobar predeceased her. She is also survived by her sister, Josephine Knellinger, as well as her 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Virginia spent many years as a homemaker and in support of her husband’s Air Force and oral surgery careers. She enjoyed interior design and gardening; she was President of the Temple Garden Club and a member of the Temple Iris Society. She was also the longtime proprietor of Red Pineapple Antiques of Hamilton, Texas. Private services were held Sunday, July 8, 2007 with burial following at the Rea Family Cemetery in Pottsville, Texas.
