- Velma Norma Alexander Price

Velma Norma Alexander Price died April 13, 2007. Fu-neral services were held April 19 at the First United Methodist Church in Evant with the Rev. Cindy T. Dack officiating. Burial was at Bee House Ceme-tery.
She was born on August 2, 1913 in Long Cove, the daugh-ter of Barney Pickens Alexan-der and Della Godwin Alexan-der and graduated from Santa Anna High School.
She was married to Willie Andrew Price in Santa Anna, on Dec. 26, 1936. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1985.
Mrs. Price lived most of her life in Evant with the exception of the time her husband served in the United States Army dur-ing WWII. She worked as a telephone traffic operator in Tucson, Ariz. and lived for a short time in Odessa. She and her husband owned a wool and mohair store in Evant and she also worked as the school li-brarian, study hall teacher and secretary and at the Evant Bank for a short time as well.
She was very involved with the Eastern Star program and her church, First United Meth-odist Church of Evant.
The couple adopted two sons, Glen Doyle Price and Albert Ray Price.
She is preceded in death by her son, Glen and two infant brothers.
Survivors include her son, Albert Ray Price of Austin, sister, Liva Juanita Stephens, of Lometa; five grand-children; Ricky Glen Price, Darren Dewayne Price, and Gina Mi-chelle Poe, all of Hamilton, and Clayton Ray Price of Austin.; a niece, Janice Meek, and a nephew, Jack Whitley, of Lometa and five great-great grand-children.

Martha Mae West

Martha Mae West, 90, of Hamilton, died April 18, 2007. Funeral services were held April 21 at Heritage Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie. Burial was in Lindale Cemetery.
She was born in Montague County on Dec. 2, 1916, the daughter of Morris Foster and Sarah (Hatfield) Foster and lived most of her life in Bowie.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Swafford and Clarence West; a daughter, Mary (Swafford) Romine; sons, Glenn Swafford and Willie West and her par-ents.
Survivors include her daughter, Ginger (West) Cape and husband Ron of Hamilton; sons, Charles Swafford and wife Anna of Bowie; John Swafford and wife Cathy of San Antonio; a brother, Riley Foster of Bowie; 16 grandchil-dren; 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Clarence A. Lucas

Colonel (Ret.) Clarence A. Lucas of Morgan’s Point Resort died April 20, 2007 after a short battle with leukemia. Graveside services with full military honors were held April 23 at Central Texas State Vet-erans Cemetery in Killeen. A memorial service was held at Covenant Lutheran Church on the same day.
Mr. Lucas was born July 4, 1928 in the Hamilton County community of Shive, the son of Ernest and Clara Selheimier Lucas.
Beginning in 1948, he served for 36 years with the Texas Army National Guard in a full time roll, first in the avia-tion field where he was a pilot of both fixed and rotary wing aircraft and later as director of maintenance. After retirement Mr. Lucas served on the city council of Morgan’s Point Re-sort, the church council of Covenant Lutheran Church of Temple and the Bell County Texas Health Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Thelma Harvill Lucas of Morgan’s Point Resort and his son, Clarence Jr. of Austin.
The family requests memo-rials be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Covenant Lutheran Church.

John Edward Schrank

John Edward Schrank died April 20, 2007 in McKinney, Collin County.
He was born in Seminole on Nov. 5, 1963 to Fred Leon Schrank and Georgia Ann Kemp Schrank. He was bap-tized on Nov. 17, 1963 at Faith Lutheran Church in Andrews.
He was confirmed on Palm Sunday in 1975 at Zion Lu-theran Church, Walburg. He moved several times in his early years with his parents, first attending school in Gra-ham and spending his last nine years of school and graduating from Georgetown High School in 1982.
He went on to attend and graduate magna cum laude from Texas A&M in 1987 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked in engineering firms in Lubbock and the Dallas area and designed several water and wastewater treatments plants now in operation in Texas.
He was employed by ITT Flygt in Carrollton. He contrib-uted many hours of time and care to his engineering projects.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Pam Schrank of McKinney; his daughter, Casey Schrank of Plano; his mother, Georgia Ann Schrank of College Station, his grandfa-ther, Floyd Kemp; a brother and sister in law, Dr. David Schrank and Stacey Schrank of College Station, a niece and nephew, Keaton and Cannon Schrank of College Station, two uncles and aunts, Marvin and Shirley Schrank and Alan and Nelda Schrank of Hamilton.

Albertine Emily “Tena” Meissner Lange

Albertine Emily “Tena” Meissner Lange, 99, of Dodd City, died April 17, 2007 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham. Funeral services were held April 20, 2007 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham with Rev. John Walther officiating. Burial followed in Dodd City Ceme-tery.
Mrs. Lange was born Oct. 20, 1907 in Dumas, the daugh-ter of Adolph and Emelia Tis-chler Meissner.
She was married to William Frederick Edward “Buddy” Lange on Nov. 14, 1929 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ale-man. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1993.
She spent most of her life in Hamilton County, until she moved to Fannin County in 1980. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Allens Chapel.
Survivors include her daughters, Bernice Lange Fraund and husband Helmut of Crystal Lake, Il.; Diane Lange Bridges and husband J.B. of Dodd City; grandson, Philipp Fraund; granddaughters, Brigitte Fraund, Marisa Fraund, Cynthia Bridges Gossett; great-grandsons, Joshua Gossett, Ryan Gossett; great-grand-daughters, Emma Passaretti, Kali Leeann Gossett; great-great-grandsons, Blake Gossett and Austin Gossett; and special friend Mildred Bridges.
Pallbearers were Martin Seider, Josh Gossett, Robert Dueitt, Ryan Gossett, Larry Kopp and Weldon Hohertz.
Honorary pallbearers were Stanley Kopp, Gilbert Gossett, David McAnelly, James Devault, Gregg Ballard, Jimmy Peebles and Tivis Pruitt.

Kearny Eugene Edmiston
Kearney Eugene Edmiston, 88, a long-time resident of Floydada, Texas, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Rowlett Health and Rehab Care Center in Rowlet, Texas.
Mr. Edmiston was born on June 14, 1918 in Hamilton County, Texas to the late Clarence Eugene and Willie Kearney Edmiston.
He married Margaret Inez Bartley on Dec. 31, 1938 in Clovis, N.M. He lived in Floydada from 1946-2006 and later moved to Rockwall in August 2006.
He was a self-employed plumber and worked until he retired in 1983. He was selected Pioneer Man of the year at Old Settler’s in 2005. He served in the U.S. Navy from June 1944 – January 1946 on Battleship U.S.S. California during WWII.
Mr. Edmiston was preceded in death by his parents and 12 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Barlety Edmiston of Rockwall; one son, Kearney Eugene Edmiston Jr. and wife Vivian of Denver, Co.; two daughters, Sharon Edmiston Seago and husband Bob of Creede, Co., and Dorothy Edmiston Allen and husband Kyle of Rockwall; 10 grand-children, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sat., April 14 at First United Methodist Church in Floydada with Rev. Les Hall officiating. Burial was at Floyd County Memorial Park under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada.
