Josephine (Josie)) Bubert Landua, 88, died at Forrest Ridge Care Center on Feb. 10, 2007. Funeral services Feb. 13 at Riley Funeral Chapel.
She was born April 14, 1918 in Shive, the daughter of Frank Henry and Rosina (Sammann) Bubert. She was baptized, con-firmed and married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shive and a lifelong resident of that com-munity. She was married to Daniel (Dan) Landua on Janu-ary 1, 1939.
Mrs. Landau was very active in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She loved children and taught Sunday school for more than 25 years. Not many got out of her class without knowing the 10 commandments and their meaning. She gave homework, and memory assignments each week. She was also very active in PTA and the community and loved helping anyone in need.
She was a loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked side by side with her husband on the farm, and enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, gardening, and canning and freezing those fruits of her la-bor. She loved baking desserts and decorating birthday cakes every year for each immediate family member.
Mrs. Landau was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and four brothers: Wil-lie, Henry, Reinhart and Her-bert Bubert, and two sisters, Annie Seilheimer and Elsie Seilheimer.
Survivors include one daughter Laurel and her hus-band Calvin Friedrich of Shive; two granddaughters, Cheryl Saucier and husband David of Austin, Debbie Ballard and husband Franklin of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Brooks and Cameron Ballard and Sydney Saucier; her brother, Arthur Bubert and wife Vivian and nieces and neph-ews.

Mrs. Marshall

Viola "Vi" Webb Marshall, 85, died Feb. 22, 2007 at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Bridgewood Church of Christ. Burial was at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Marshall was born in Hamilton County on Sept. 4, 1921, the daughter of Robert E. Lee and Gertrude Smith Webb. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1939 and was valedictorian of her class.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and had been a member at Bridgewood Church of Christ since January 1969.
Mrs. Marshall served for five years with the State of Texas during World War II and more than 30 years with Civil Service from which she retired on October 28, 1978. She was a retired hearing administrator for Social Security Administra-tion.
Mrs. Marshall was a mem-ber of Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1946 from which she was awarded a lifetime member-ship.
After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband on several Dan Dipert Tours. She and her husband were active in the 39ers group at Bridgewood for several years. She was happy working at Bridgewood Church of Christ until her health prevented her from being active. Vi was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Oklahoma Sooner fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Axell Marshall on May 19, 1998. They were married on August 30, 1968.
Survivors include a step-son, Bud Marshall and wife, Pat; step-daughters, Janet Gilder and husband, Grady, Sharon Marshall Castille; nine step-grandchildren; six great-grand-children and several nieces and nephews including Jill Gro-matzky and Joan Box, both of Hamilton and great-nieces and nephews as well as her friend and personal nurse, Ysleta Johnson; and special sister-in-law, Ruby Webb of Hamilton.

Nancy Holley Swint died Feb. 20, 2007 in Douglassville. Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Douglassville Baptist Church with Bro. Rod LaGrone and Rev. Danny Mayton offici-ating.
She was born May 16, 1946 in Hamilton, the daughter of Lucille and Alton Holley.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother; her husband, Jim Swint of Douglassville; three broth-ers, Ronald Holley and wife JoAnn of Greenville, Arnold Holley and wife Mickey of Canton, David Holley and wife Helen of Hamilton.
Honorary pallbearers were John Welch, Jeff Bickham, James Paul Baker, Steve Hol-ley, Jake Bickham and James B. Artman.

Mrs. Fuqua

Jimmie Dean Fuqua, 88 of Lamesa, died Feb. 24 at Cove-nant Medical in Lubbock. Fu-neral services were held Feb. 27 Lamesa Church of Christ with Mark Hackett Officiating.
She was born April 11, 1918 in Coryell County.
She was married to Elmo B. Fuqua on July 30, 1938 in Pottsville.
Mrs. Fuqua was a home-maker and also worked as a sales clerk for L-Ann Shoe Shop in Lamesa.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother Charles Cole.
Survivors include a daugh-ter, Myrna Woodrum and hus-band Joe of Lamesa; a sister, Mary Lou Spivey of Olney and a brother, Billy Cole of Hamil-ton; two grandchildren, Tabitha Long and husband Jerry of Marble Falls, Mark Woodrum and wife Melinda of Burnet; five great-grandchildren, Megan, Jessica and Wyatt Long of Marble Falls; Cole and Hunter Woodrum of Burnet.
Memorials are suggested to the Lubbock Children’s Home.
