Harvey Louis Mayfield
Harvey Mayfield, 81, of Abilene died July 16, 2008. Funeral services were held July 18 at The Hamil Family Fu-neral Home in Abilene with Jack Roseberry officiated. Bur-ial was in Elmwood Memorial Park
He was born in Jones County on May 4, 1927, the son of Marvin and Ida (Storey) Mayfield. He was married to Dorothy Lee Roseberry on July 29, 1945 in Anson. She pre-ceded him in death March 19, 2007.
Mr. Mayfield served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947. He was a profile ma-chinist for General Dynamics for 31 years. He had lived in Abilene since 1952, when he moved from Anson. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ida Mayfield; his wife, Dorothy Mayfield; a sister, Viola How-ell; and three brothers, Vernon, Arnold and J.C. Mayfield.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Lisa and Greg Lemond, of Abi-lene, and Diane and Bryce Maryfield, of San Antonio; one sister, Lera Karp, of Sterling, Colo.; four grandchildren, Trey Maryfield and his wife Kim, Shannon Maryfield-Lamb, Christy Hernandez and her husband Roberto, and Chad Lemond; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Lamb, Brenden and Braylon Hernan-dez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Roberto Hernandez, Chad Lemond, Trey Maryfield, J.J. Perez, Mick Clary and Chuck Lawson.
