- Mrs. Williams

Mrs. Lucius Williams, 94, of Gatesville died Jan. 24 at a Gatesville nursing home. Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. M.V. Hemphill officiating. Burial followed at the Turnersvile Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 7, 1913 in Glen Rose, the daughter of John Thomas and Mae Plumer Martin. As a teen she moved to the Moshiem area and attended Concord school.
She was married to R. P. (Fatty) Williams on Nov. 6, 1930. The couple lived in White Hall and Turnersville communities all their married lives where they farmed together.
Mrs. Williams was a nurses aide at Coryell Memorial Hospital, Clifton Lutheran Sunset Nursing Home and Goodall Witcher Hospital.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing and making beautiful quilts at home and at the Jonesboro and Turnersville Community Centers. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband in 1972; a son, Bob Williams and wife Dorothy; a granddaughter, Karen and a great-granddaughter, Sarah and grandson-in-law, Pat.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Jo McLaughlin and husband Grady of Gatesville, Vanda Gardner and husband Robert of Turnersville; son, Earl Williams and wife, Duane of Gatesville; sister, Voncell Crawford of Cleburne; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Turnersville Community Center .

Mrs. Murphy

Lunora Beth Murphy, 72, of Midland, died Jan. 24, 2007 in Midland. Memorial services are set for Saturday February 3, at 1 p.m. in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel.
She was born Sept. 14, 1934 in Hamilton, the daughter of Ora May and William L. Winningham.
She grew up in Hamilton and played on the state champion basketball team for Hamilton High School. She devoted her life to raising her children and enjoying her children, grandchildren and great-grand-child.
Survivors include her three sisters, Dorothy Sommerfeld, Mildred Spivey and Kaye Noble; her three daughters Colleen Hutchings of Katy, Kaye Kuzmich of Midland, and Marjorie Maye of Fort Worth; four granddaughters Erica Maye, Rachael Maye, Mary Ward Hadley and Katherine Ward; and one great-grandson Ward Gaige Hadley.
Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Virgil.

Mrs. Seilheimer

Elsie Laura Seilheimer, 91, died at her home on Jan. 27, 2007. Funeral service were held Jan. 29 in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Shive with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
She was born Feb. 2, 1915, the daughter of Frank Henry Bubert and Rosina Wilhemina Sammann.
She was married to Herbert Gustav Seilheimer on Nov. 14, 1938 at Hamilton. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1997. After his death, she continued living on their farm.
She was a devoted wife and helpmate to her husband, a loving aunt to a host of nieces, and a friend to the community. She was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Annie Seilheimer and four brothers, Bill, R.H., Herbert and Henry Bubert.
Survivors include one sister, Josephine Landua of Hamilton; a brother, Arthur Burbert of Shive and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Alvin Bubert, Calvin Friedrich, Wayne Wagner, Jerry Bubert, Louis Donahoo, and Gary Williams.

Mr. Moncrief

James Earl Moncrief, 59, died Jan. 22 2007 at his residence in Burleson after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Jan. 26 at Harrell Memorial Chapel in Dublin with Rev. Mike Fristcher officiating. Burial was at Dublin Liveoak Cemetery.
He was born May 11, 1947, the son of Thomas A. and Bessie Vera Fails Moncrief.
He was the one-time owner and operator of Sun Set Café in Dublin. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Moncrief was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Woodrow, Bill and Tom Moncrief; two sisters, Francis Ivie and Tempie Bingham.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelly Bradley of St. Augustine, Fla., Marcia Bolton of Burleson; a son, Scotty Moncrief of Dallas; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Florine Bundrant of Dublin, Betty Cheatwood of Crowley; four brothers, Len Moncrief of Seldon, Jimmy Moncrief of Hamilton; John Moncrief of Fort Worth and Travis Moncrief of Granbury.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Mike Moncrief, Torrey Moncrief, Al Moncrief, Rick Moncrief, Tim Webb, Chris Webb, Curtis Ivie and James Bundrant.
Memorials may be sent to Southern Care Hospice in Fort Worth.

Mrs. Vickers

Mary Anna Vickers died Jan. 18, 2007. Funeral Services were held Sunday January 21, 2007 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Ballard officiating. Burial followed on Monday January 22, 2007 in the Charlotte City Cemetery in Charlotte.
Mrs. Vickers was born on Nov. 1, 1920, the daughter of W. C. Kieke and Minna (Menke) Kieke near Charlotte in Atacosa County.
After graduating from Charlotte High School in 1938 she was married to Dawson Vickers on Nov. 1, 1939. They purchased land at Davis Switch, near Charlotte. They worked their land as a team for more than 50 years until health problems made it necessary for them to move in August of 1993.
In January of 1994 they moved to Hamilton to be near their family.
In her later years Mary Anna enjoyed being near her daughter, granddaughters, and great grandchildren. During the years in Hamilton, she had an opportunity to spend some special time with her sister, Katherine. Mary Anna loved being outdoors; sunshine and rain. She made many friends over her lifetime and having a cup of coffee with a friend was always a special time for her.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 3, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lambert and her husband C.W. of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Debbie Sanford and her husband Steve of Hamilton, Cindy Oppermann and her husband Ty of Harker Heights; three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Jacob, and Shelby Sanford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Berry

Robert Berry of Abilene died Jan. 29, 2007 in Abilene. Funeral services are tentatively set for Thursday or Friday in Granbury. For more information about the services, call Norman Kneschk at 254-386-3222. Full obituary information will be carried in next week’s Herald-News.

Mrs. Sohm

Hilma Emma Kuklies Sohm, 85, of Dublin died Jan. 29, 2007 in the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home in Dublin. Funeral Services will be held Friday Feb. 2, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton with Rev. Herman Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.
Mrs. Sohm was born Dec. 13, 1921 in Hamilton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Ida Kunkel Kuklies. She was married to Benjamin Franklin Sohm in Hamilton on Oct. 14, 1941. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Stephenville and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Sohm and his wife Irene of Dublin; Carl E. Sohm and his wife Virginia of Columbia S.C.; four grandchildren, Chris Sohm and wife Jeanette of Carrollton; Carl B. Sohm and wife Roberta of Albuquerque N.M. and Michael Sohm of Columbia S.C.; Katy Sohm of Columbia S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Robert B. Sohm and Noah Jacob Sohm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Sohm on September 20, 1995; her parents; seven sisters and five brothers.
