- Mr. Tatum

William (Bill) Tatum, 77, died Jan. 9 at a Waco hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 11 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Smith-King Cemetery in Mound.
Mr. Tatum was born April 2, 1929 in Junction, the son of Rudolph (Pop) Curtis Tatum and Emmarene Ray Tatum. He was married to Sandra Gann on Oct. 13, 1967 in Belton.
He enjoyed life, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He worked as an electrician, farrier and rancher for many years. Mr. Tatum was a professional rodeo cowboy and a member of the RCA.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Tatum; children, Trey Tatum and wife Kim, Mike Tatum and wife Amanda, Nancy Lee Rodgers, Steven Nagy and wife Sandra, Se’Vette Early and husband Sam and Justin Dalton Tatum and wife Marla; a sister, Jane Archer; brother, Rudy Tatum and wife Joby; grandchildren, Russell Tatum, Mark Rodgers, Tricia Tatum-Miller, Cris Tatum, Shawna Tatum, Kendall Nagy, Shy Cooper Tatum, Stormy Cee Tatum and Slone Quade Early; great-grandchildren, Hannah Tatum and Justin Tatum.
Memorials may be made to the William (Bill) Tatum Scholarship Fund, C/O Louise Yows at the National Bank.

Mr. Stubbs

Jay Edward Stubbs, 74 of Odessa died Jan. 2, 2007 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. Funeral services were held a Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Jan. 6 with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Stubbs was born May 24, 1932 in Archer City, the son of Ernest D. Stubbs and Captola L. Smith Stubbs.
He was employed by Yellow Jacket in Odessa for 30 years as operations and general manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Kenneth, James, Bobby and Leroy Stubbs and two sisters, Floy and June Stubbs.
Survivors include two daughters, Ginger Anderson and Carla Reynolds, four grandchildren, James. T. Ragsdale, Kristine Ragsdale, Chad Bankston and Glenn Bankston; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews as well as his dear friend of 30 years, Sharon Hard and her family.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.

Mr. Thomas

John Archie Thomas 72 of Meridian, formerly of Cranfills Gap, died Jan. 11, 2007 at Goodall-Witcher Hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Jan. 13 at the Cranfills Gap Cemetery with Rev. Bill Schibler officiating.
Mr. Thomas was born Feb. 8, 1934 at Ropesville, the son of Aubrey Andrew Thomas and Verna Mae Thomas.
In 1949 the family moved to Cranfills Gap where John made his home until he and his brother Carter moved to the care home in Meridian.
Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his father; his mother; and a brother, Douglas McArthur Thomas.
Survivors include one brother, Carter Glenn Thomas of Meridian; a sister-in-law Rosalie Matthews of Waco and friend Lou Ann Unger of Waco.
