Miss Williams
Carolyn Williams, 99, of Hamilton, died Dec. 4 , 2006 in the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral Services were held Dec. 6 in the Park Heights Church of Christ in Hamilton with Don Middleton officiating. Burial followed in the Old Hamilton Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.
Miss Williams was born Jan. 30, 1907 in Hamilton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest R. Williams. She grew up in Hamilton where she attended the East Ward Elementary School and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1925.
She went on to earn two degrees in Elementary Education from North Texas University in Denton. She taught third grade in Hamilton County and in area schools and Gatesville until her retirement in 1972. After retirement she went on to teach in the Odessa Christian School for seven years. In total Ms. Williams taught for 46 years and truly loved the children.
During WWII she was a clerk on the Hamilton County Selective Service Board until the war ended.
Music was always a very important part of her life. Her teaching of the children in their rhythm band and private piano lessons at her home was very important to her.
Miss Williams was a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for many years and served with the World Bible School who through correspondence ministered to foreign countries the word of God. Church always came first in her life.
She is survived by several adored nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Goerdel
Barbara Ann (Pope) Goerdel, 63, of Thorndale, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Celebration of Life Services we
re set for Dec. 13, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale with Pastor James Mann officiating. Burial followed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Goerdel was born on Sept. 13, 1943 in Point, the daughter of George and Juanita (Stigall) Pope.
She was married to Ronald Leslie Goerdel on Feb. 18, 1962. Barbara was baptized in the Baptist church and was confirmed when she became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pasadena, on June 6, 1966.
Mrs. Goerdel worked as a clerk at Steve’s Cash Store in Thorndale. She later worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin until her retirement in 2003. She was an associate member of St. Paul LWML and a former member of the Thorndale Fireman’s Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Karen Denice Goerdel; her father, George Pope, and step-father, C. Bill Chittum.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Ann (Goerdel) Zuehlke and husband, Floyd, Jr., all of Thorndale; a son, Brent Goerdel and wife Gina of Cedar Park; mother, Juanita Chittum of Pearland; brother, Bill Chittum of Austin; three grandsons, Steven and Kevin Zuehlke of Thorndale and Steven Schuchardt of Cedar Park; and many relatives, friends, and good neighbors.
Pallbearers were Steven Zuehlke, Kevin Zuehlke, Steven Schuchardt, Brandon Jones, Brian Jones, Robert Young, and Eddie Collins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Jackson, Mel Morris, Melvin Cast, Norman Leschber, Floyd Zuehlke, Sr., and Freddie Wuensche.

Joyce Marie Nelson died Nov. 30, 2006 with her husband, Andy at her side. Burial was at King Cemetery in Henderson on Dec. 2. She was born Oct. 23, 1953.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Rusty Nelson; daughter-in-law, Trina and granddaughter, Moriah; mother-in-law, Gracie Kneschk and husband Norman of Hamilton; her mother, Marie Bass of Kemp; a sister, three brothers; and a sister-in-law, Lenora Gray of Dallas.

Jimmie Charlene Sellers, 79, of Fairy died at Hamilton on Dec. 7. Funeral services were held Dec. 10 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton with Rev. Bill Schibler and Rev. Bert Debord officiating with burial following in the Fairy Cemetery.
Mrs. Sellers was born July 9, 1927 in Fairy, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Owen and Eunice Pearl Newman of Richardson. She was married to Carl Ray Sellers on June 6, 1942 at Crawford.
Mrs. Sellers was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Iredell Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW and a longtime member of the Lanham Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Melvin Sellers; three brothers, James Dudley Richardson, Hershal Owen Richardson, and J.C. Richardson and one sister Loretta Allison.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Ray Sellers of Fairy; one son, Jimmy Don Sellers of Grapevine; two daughters, Carolyn Ruth Turner, of Nocona, and Janice Raylene Crowley, of Abilene; six grandchildren, Keith Turner of Hico; Kim Embry of Nocona, Jayson Sellers of Carrollton, Kristi Browning of Alexander City, Alabama, Kyle Harris of Euless and Ashlee Harris of Everett, Washington; ten great-grandchildren, Lexi Embry, Kyli Embry, Tom Hancock, Tyler Turner, Megan Browning, Haley Browning, GavinSellers, Audrye Sellers, Jana Sellers, and Joshua Szymanski.

Mrs. Price
Lisa Darlene Cagle Price, 38, of Graham and formerly of Hamilton, died Dec. 10, 2006. Funeral services will be held Thursday Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Tull officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Price was born May 23, 1968 in Lubbock, the daughter of Leroy Cagle and Wanda Jo Hendrick Cagle. She worked as an LVN and attended the First Baptist Church in Graham.
Survivors include two sons, Tyler Price of Athens and Coltyn Price of Graham, her mother, Wanda Reily of Gatesville; her sister, Michelle Cathey of Lubbock; her dad, Gary Buckner of Hamilton; her father, Leroy Cagle of Lubbock, and numerous nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Mackenzie Faith Kimberlyn Price in October of 2006.

Mrs. Strickland
Sally Beatrice Oglesby Strickland, 90, died at Clifton Saturday Dec. 9, 2006. Graveside services were held Dec. 11 in Old I. O. O. F. Cemetery with Rev. Keith Felton officiating.
She was born Oct. 9, 1916 at Lanham, daughter of the late James Willie Oglesby and Faye Beatrice Crosby Oglesby.
She was married to William O. Strickland on Jan. 6, 1935 at Hamilton. He preceded her in death December 16, 1984.
Mrs. Strickland loved her antiques and working in her yard seeing that every leaf was in place or picked up. She won yard of the month twice for having the most beautiful yard.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Amye Craig and a brother, Punch Oglesby.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Fay Smith and a granddaughter, Jenny Beatrice Smith both of Clifton and a number of nieces and nephews.

Hope Parrish Smith, 83 died Dec. 9, 2006 at Hamilton. Graveside funeral services were held Dec. 11 in Old Hamilton Cemetery with Robert Parrish officiating.
She was born February 10, 1923 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Hill and Kate Hill Parrish.
She was married to Garlon Leonard in 1947.
She made sure that each of her children knew they were good at something. Her favorite memories were of the summertime when her children were still at home. The whole family would load up in their International hooked to a trailer and head out to a nearby rodeo.
On October 13, 1990, after her children were grown Hope married Earnest Smith. He preceded her in death in Oct. 2002.
Mrs. Smith had a deep faith in the Lord and believed he had a reason for keeping her on Earth
Survivors include her three children, Katy Siepert of Hamilton, Jeanie Leonard of Hico and Sam Leonard of Comanche; six grandchildren; one sister Clayda Allen of Gatesville and one brother Kent Parrish of Evant.
