Mr. Landua
Kermit C. Landua died August 6, 2006. Funeral services were held Aug. 9 at Central Lutheran Church in Dallas with Pastor Walter Klockers officiating. Burial followed in Shive at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
He was born in Hamilton, on Feb. 21, 1915.
Mr. Landua was a longtime member of Central Lutheran Church and owned and operated his barber shop for more than 50 years at Lakeland and Ferguson Road.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Lillie.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Edith Landua; children and their spouses, David and Shirley Landua, Sharon and Elroy Wahl, Alan and Susan Landua, Dana Neighbors; stepchildren and their spouses, Michael and Glenda Hurley, Theresa and Richard Owens, Betty and Dennis Owens and many grandchildren.

Mr. Wood
Lester Eldridge Wood, 76, died at Hamilton on Aug. 13, 2006. Funeral services were held in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel on Aug. 15 with Rev. Russell Nebhut and Vicar Jace Detrie officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 15, 1930 in Sebastian, the son of James Lee and Delilah Jane (Williams) Wood. He attended school in Yoakum and entered the United States Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Alaska.
After Mr. Wood’s discharge from the military, he worked as an engineer for the Texas Highway Department for 38 years.
He was married to Nadine Shirley Gromatzky on June 6, 1954 at St. John Lutheran Church by Pastor Nerger.
After retiring from the highway department Mr. Wood enjoyed looking for Indian artifacts, hunting and fishing. He was a collector of World War II and Korean era military rifles that he restored and modified for himself and friends.
After his retirement he worked part-time with Brumbalow Motors of Hamilton as a vehicle transport driver.
Mr. Wood joined St. John Lutheran Church on Sept. 3, 1978 when Pastor Albert Wunsche baptized and confirmed him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jimmy Wood.
Survivors include his wife of Hamilton; a daughter, Shirley Jean (Wood) Freeman and husband Danny of Burleson; a grandson, Matthew Kenshalo of Burleson, his step-brothers and sister, William Rader of Gatesville, Dorathy Bryan of Gatesville, John Rader of Avery, James Rader of New Boston; the wife of his brother Jimmy, Margie Wood and her children, Judy Leist and husband James and Douglas Wood.
Pallbearers were Vincente Ramirez, Cecil Kirkland, Gene Riley, Gary Coston, Bob McFarlin and Ben Brumbalow. Honorary pallbearers were Alton Gromatzky, Verner Gromatzky, Jaime Ramirez, Jose Luis Najera and Alfonso Silva.

Mr. Krueger
Gene Henry Krueger, 67, of Hamilton died Aug. 14, 2006 in Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services are set for Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Russell Nebhut officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.
Mr. Krueger was born May 30, 1939 in Hamilton County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Carl Krueger.
He worked as a mechanic in Pottsville, Shive and many service stations in Hamilton.
He was a member of St John Lutheran Church in Hamilton. His two passions in life were baseball and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Carl and Sophie Ida Wustinger Krueger; a sister, Mary Nell Lee and a brother, Charles Krueger.
Survivors include a daughter, Becky Lynn Turner and her husband Shawn of Harker Heights; a step-son, James Edward Harrington and wife Kelly of Snyder; two grandchildren, Megan Lynn Turner and Caden Andrew Turner; two step-grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher Harrington; a sister, Nelda Anna Schrank of Aleman.

Mr. Leach
Bobbie Dale Leach, 79, of Hamilton, died August 14, 2006 in Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services were set for Thursday, Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Pecan Wells Cemetery.
Mr. Leach was born June 14, 1927 in Shive, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Leach.
He was married to Alma Tischler on June 1, 1946 in Pottsville. He was a farmer and drove a school bus for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Pearl Black Leach; a son, Bobbie Charles Leach and a granddaughter, Melissa Gay Leach.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Hernandez of Arlington and Sandra Miller of Forsyth, Missouri; three grandchildren, Allison Hernandez of Arlington, Cameron Bohnstedt of Quinley, Ill and Jonathan Hernandez of Arlington.
