- Mrs. Green

Florina Green, 89, of the Pe-can Wells Community died July 3 at Forrest Ridge Nursing Home. Funeral services were held at Stacy-Wilkins Chapel with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating on July 6. Burial was at Pecan Wells Cemetery.
Mrs. Green was born Nov. 17, 1916 in Hamilton, the daughter of Valentine Sauers and Annie Ising.
She was married to Thomas Floyd Green on August 5, 1939 in Goldthwaite. She lived in Pecan Wells all of her life. She was a member of Shive Lu-theran Church and was a house-wife and a seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother and his wife, Fred and Loraine Sauers.
Survivors include her son, Jesse Green and wife Betty of Houston; a daughter, Jo Ann and husband David Butler of Arlington; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Chris Green, Tracy Butler, Roger Fritcher, Kevin Basye, Mark Butler and Connor Fritcher.

Mrs. Neal

Myrna Mae Neal, 73, of Waco, died July 3, 2006, at her home. Services were held July 5, at OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hyers of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was at Killeen Memorial Park.
Mrs. Neal was born in Ham-ilton to Mark and Beatrice (Barnett) Neal. She was vale-dictorian of the Hamilton High School class of 1951. She graduated summa cum laude from Texas Wesleyan Univer-sity and later received a mas-ter's degree from the University of Texas.
She worked in the American embassies in Thailand, Brus-sels, Sri Lanka and Mexico. She returned to Waco and was director of the Region 12 Edu-cation Service Center before retiring.
Survivors include five sis-ters, Wilma Johnson and hus-band, Clifford of Waco, Nancy Schroyer of Cleburne, Janelle Byrd and husband, Ronnie of Killeen, Clota Cates and hus-band, Max of Chattanooga, Okla., and Ann Fogle of Harker Heights; brothers, Loran Neal of Long Branch and Billy Neal and wife, Doris of Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Brandon Fogle, Blake Byrd, Billy John Byrd, Jim Johnson, Gary Bishop and Doug Bishop.

Mrs. Solomon

Creola Faye Solomon Gatlin died June 30 in Bandera. Fu-neral services were conducted Sunday, July 2 in Grimes Chapel in Bandera with Rev. Chris Mallia officiating. Burial was in Pipe Creek Cemetery in Bandera.
She was born in Hamilton County on Feb. 5, 1918 and was married to Weldon Gatlin on Feb. 27, 1953 in San Anto-nio. The couple lived in San Antonio for a number of years before moving to Lakehills after she retired from Braniff Airlines after 23 years of ser-vice. Mrs. Solomon was a Bap-tist.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents/ four sisters, Maggie Mae Green, Mercades Johnson, Claudine Miller and Mildred Solomon.
Survivors include seven nieces and nephews, Jo Kin-chelo of Llano, Judy Watson of Wataga, Eva Faye DeHay of Dayton, Claude Johnson of Odessa, David Johnson of Odessa, Ralph Johnson of Wake Village and Wilburn Miller of Arlington as well as 17 great-nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Firestone

Kelsey Emily Graham Fire-stone, 96, of Gatesville, died July 9, 2006 in a Gatesville nursing home. Funeral services were held July 11 at First United Methodist Church of Evant. Burial followed at Smith Cemetery near Purmela.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1909, the daughter of the late George and Minnie Johnson Graham in Dalhart. She at-tended school in Fort Worth where she graduated from high school.
She was married to C.W. Firestone in 1928 in Dalhart. They owned a feed store in Lamesa. They moved to Pur-mela in 1952 and she worked as a nurse in Clifton, Hamilton Gatesville and Lamesa.
Mrs. Firestone did a great deal of community work in Purmela and Gatesville. She and her husband were active in the choir at First United Meth-odist Church of Evant.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Sugg and hus-band Robert S. of Gatesville; sisters, Mina Virginia Thomas of Fort Worth and Dr. B. Louise Yates of Fort Worth.
In lieu of flowers, memori-als may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Evant.
