Ball tournament set
for Friday and Saturday

The City of Hamilton Parks Department will be hosting its first open youth baseball and softball tournaments this Friday and Saturday in the new Pecan Creek Recreational Park.
Parks and Recreation Direc-tor Ryan Polster said that six teams will be competing in the boys’ 10 and under bracket. The bracket includes two teams from Hamilton and teams from Clifton, DeLeon, Early and Meridian.
The boys will begin play at 6 p.m. Friday with a game be-tween Hamilton B and Clifton, followed by a game between Hamilton R and DeLeon. Play will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday with the winner of the first game playing Early. The win-ner of the second game will face Meridian at 10:45. It is a double elimination tournament. Games will continue all day Saturday with the champion-ship game starting at 8:30 p.m.
Three teams will be compet-ing in the eight and under girls’ softball tournament on Satur-day. Hamilton will face Merid-ian at noon Saturday. At 1:30 p.m. Meridian will again take the field to play Early and at 3 p.m. Early and Hamilton will play.
Following the last game, a playoff game will begin fol-lowed by the championship game.
There will also be a 12 and under girls game at 6:30 p.m. between Hamilton and Comanche.
