Elks run well at area

HEADED TO REGIONAL- The Hamilton High School boys’ golf team will be competing at the regional tournament in Stephenville next Monday after winning the district championship last week with an 11-stroke cushion over the nearest opponent. Evant athletes gave an impressive performance at the area track meet held at Trinity High School last week.
Sara Vann won the pole vault clearing 8’6”. Sidney Siepert took top honors in the 400-meter dash, running a 60 flat.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Keri Clary came in second in 16:87 and she also placed second in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.29.
Allie Lacomb claimed fourth in the shot put with a heave of 32’10 ½” and came in sixth in the discus at 85’6 ½”.
The Lady Elks came in fourth in the 1600-meter relay in 4:29.86. Carrying the baton were Vann, Siepert, Clary and Jessica Paul.
Argentina Obiedo placed sixth in the 1600-meter run in 6:07.22.
In the boys’ division, Andrew Gordon won first in both the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run. He ran 10:06.22 and 4:36.87 respectively.
