Dogs drop district openers

The Bulldog baseball team opened district play last week with losses on the road against Crawford and Clifton. The Dogs lost 18-1 in Crawford and 14-4 in Clifton.
Against the Pirates, the Bulldogs were out hit 14 to three and committed three errors. Sherod Townsend scored the only run for Hamilton. Townsend was one for two at the plate, Garet Box one for three and Ethan Cathey one for two.
In Clifton, the Cubs had nine hits and the Bulldogs five. Hamilton committed two errors and Clifton three.
Jorden Lowe was one for two at the plate with a two-bagger. Seth LeBlanc was one for three, Truman Baize one for two, Sherod Townsend one for two and Jordan Ratliff one for three.
The Dogs were to continue district action this week at home against Moody on Tuesday and in McGregor on Friday. The McGregor game was originally scheduled for Hamilton, but was changed. Now the game in Hamilton will be held on April 22. Both varsity games will start at 4:30 p.m. Next Tuesday the Dogs will host Bruceville-Eddy.
