Dogs to start district

DISTRICT START- The Lady Bulldog softball team started district play last Friday in Hamilton with a 20-1 loss to McGregor. The Lady Bulldogs were without the services of their starting pitcher all last week because of sickness. The Lady Bulldogs also have all new faces in the outfield this season. The Hamilton girls were to travel to Crawford on Tuesday of this week and will be in Clifton Thursday. Above, third baseman Riley Burks throws to first for an out after fielding a ground ball. The Bulldog baseball team was scheduled to start district play Tuesday of this week in Crawford and then travel to Clifton on Thursday. There were thunderstorms forecast for Tuesday afternoon and as of press time it was not known whether they would be able to get the Crawford game in.
The Dogs suffered two losses last week. On Tuesday they lost to Comanche 12-1 and on Friday to Hico 6-1. Both games were played in Hamilton.
Against Comanche, the Bulldogs had seven hits but were only able to convert them into a single run. Keaton Muxworthy was 2-3 at the plate with a double, Garet Box 1-2, Jorden Lowe 2-3, Seth LeBlanc 1-3 and Jordan Ratliff 1-2.
Hamilton had two errors, while the Indians had none. The Indians had 11 hits.
Jorden Lowe took the mound for the Bulldogs against Hico, giving up one earned run in six innings of work with one walk and seven strikeouts.
Hamilton committed five errors to Hico’s two.
At the plate for Hamilton, Landon Bullard was 1-2, Box 1-4 and Muxworthy 1-3.
