Lanmon wins third place
in Waco tennis tournament

COMPLETE GAME- Garet Box pitched a complete game shutout that took two days to finish last week during the annual Bulldog Tournament. Box took the mound for the Dogs Thursday afternoon against Santo and pitched into the second inning before rain and frigid winds caused the remainder of the game to be rescheduled for Friday. The Bulldogs came back Friday to claim a 6-0 win over Santo.

- The Hamilton High School tennis team competed in the Waco Tennis Center Tourn-ament on Feb. 27. HHS junior, Lauren Lanmon, placed third in the girls’ singles competition.
Lanmon won her first three games in decisive fashion. She beat Alyssa Jimenez of Rio Vista, 6-0, Dolores Rocha from Chilton, 6-1, and Miles from Goldthwaite, 6-1. She then missed making the championship game by one point. Kayla Gregory of Stephenville advanced with a 7-6 win over Lanmon. Lanmon won the game for third place with a 6-0 win over Melinda Newton of Iredell.
Other members of the Hamilton team are: Mellisa Pearce, David Amaro, Cody Blum, Dalton DeLeon, Jordan Ernstes, Isaac Ernstes, Dylan Craig, Chris Herrington, Tim Allen, Ethan Chorenziak, Anthony Allen and Stephen Bottlinger.
The Hamilton players will be competing in a tournament in Hico on March 11-12 and in a dual match against Comanche here on March 26 in preparation of the district tournament in Waco on March 31 and April 5.
