The Lady Dogs started the game by pressing but had trouble with West’s four-across press break and handling the off-side screens of the Lady Trojans. The Lady Bulldogs led at halftime 25-20. The girls came back on the court after the half-time with a much improved defensive effort on the press and in their half-court defense, holding West to only seven points in the second half. The Lady Dogs were able to pull away from West with points off of steals on the press and reestablishing a balanced attack on offense. Hamilton outscored West 16-4 in the third quarter and 15-3 in the fourth. Shelby Pardy led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points. Brenna Payne was also in double figures with 11. Natalie DeMasters added nine, Doxie Thompson seven, Danielle Booth six, Sarah Pearce four and Caitlyn Bedwell one. |
