The Bulldogs were chosen for this honor because of their commitment to loyalty, respect, selfless service, honor, in-tegrity, personal courage and teamwork. “Hamilton initiated the playoff drama with a surprising Thursday night win,” said Adam Hochfelder, general manager of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. The award will be presented to the team at a time to be determined later this week. “The U.S. Army is very proud of the student-athletes at Hamilton who demonstrate the qualities exhibited within the Army –those include leadership, commitment to excellent and a desire to make a difference as member of a team,” said Captain Jamarcus Brooks, Waco Recruiting Company Commander. The U.S. Army supports high school athletes through programs like Army Strong Team of the Week and the Texas Football Classic. The Army also is the proud sponsor of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, held each January in San Antonio’s Alamodome. The Bowl showcases 80 elite high school athletes, many of whom will go on to play at the collegiate and professional level. In its seventh year, the 2008 U.S. Army All-American Bowl will feature the U.S. Army All-American Band, comprised of the best high school musicians from across the country. Dave Campbell’s Texas Football is an annual publication, previewing foot-ball teams in the state of Texas each summer. It is unique in that it is the only publication to preview every team in Texas, including professional, college and high school. The magazine, know as the “bible” to football fans, was started in 1960 by Dave Campbell a longtime sportswriter in Texas. |
