BRIDGE OPEN- The new concrete bridge on County Road 302 east of Hamilton across the Leon River is now open. It replaces the historic Bulman Bridge, which has been relocated to the Pecan Creek Recreational Park in Hamilton and will be permanently installed across the creek later this year. Located in Commissioner Mike Lewis’ Precinct 2, the new bridge was built largely with funds from the TxDOT bridge replacement program, with some matching funds from the county. Staff Photo

Theme and logo contest
to be held for Dove Fest
The Hamilton County Dove Festival committee voted last week to have a contest to establish a theme for this year’s festival. Everyone is invited to submit a theme and a logo to the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.
A $50 savings bond will be awarded to the winner in each category.
The contest is open to everyone in Hamilton County. The theme and logo will appear in all of the advertising and on the event official T-shirt.
The Hamilton County Sesquicentennial Celebration should be integrated into the theme and logo, along with this being the 37th annual Dove Festival.
The contest will end June 30. The judging will take place before July 4 and the winners will be announced then.
