A pursuit that began in McGregor very early Sunday morning ended up in a pasture east of Hamilton with the suspect apparently making good his get away.
Hamilton County Sheriff Deputy Ronnie Ashmore told The Herald-News that Hamilton law enforcement officers were notified that McGregor officers were in pursuit of a pickup headed toward Hamilton. However, before the responding Hamilton officers made contact with the suspect, he took off across pasture running through several fences.
The McGregor officers did not have visual contact with the pickup at the time it left Highway 36, four to five miles east of Hamilton.
Ashmore said the officers found the pickup abandoned in a pasture. He said Hamilton officials joined the pursuing McGregor officers in searching for the suspect, but with no success.
He also said that the McGregor officers did not have much of a description of the suspect to go on or know his identity. The pursuit began after the pickup was seen leaving a possible drug house in McGregor.
