2008 graduation begins
with events Friday, Sunday

Celebrate Life - The Hamilton County Relay for Life last Friday night on the Hamilton square began with cancer survivors walking a lap around the courthouse (above). Fourteen teams participated in the event and walkers continued to circle the courthouse throughout the night. The event raised more than $25,000 for the American Cancer Society. Staff Photo

Baccalaureate services for the Hamilton High School Class of 2008 will be held this Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Chandler Craig Auditorium. Commencement Exercises will be in the Chandler Craig Auditorium on Saturday, May 31 starting at 2 p.m.
For the first time this year, scholarships and awards will be presented to the graduating senior in a separate ceremony, which will be held this Friday at the Chandler Craig Auditorium.
The evening will begin with punch and cookies at 6:30, followed by the awards and scholarship presentations at 7 p.m.
It will be a busy weekend for Hamilton High School students. In addition to the two senior activities mentioned above, the annual Bulldog Athletic Banquet will be held on Saturday. It will start at 6 p.m. at the high school. Dr. Charles Johnson, a former Hamilton High School athlete and honor student, will be the speaker. Johnson graduated from Texas A&M University School of Medicine last weekend and will begin his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth in July.
