HGH in talks with Hico Clinic

RAMSEY COLLECTION- The EDC Board invites the community to view the Ramsey Collection on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The gallery owned by Ray and Frances Ramsey includes Ray’s personal collection of 16th to 20th century fine art in the recently-remodeled historic Arthur Eidson Building on the southwest corner of the square.
- While not final, Jim Shafer, CEO of Hamilton Healthcare System, confirmed Tuesday that Hamilton General Hospital has been talking with Dr. B. C. Dayton and the Hico Clinic about acquiring the Clinic.
“This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen our market and continue to build a good relationship with the Hico community,” Shafer said.
“The Hico Clinic has a long proud tradition of providing medical care in Hico, and that would continue. Dr. Dayton would remain with the clinic part-time, in addition to physicians from the Family Practice Clinic in Hamilton rotating to the Hico Clinic on certain days.”
Dr. Lee, Medical Director of the Family Practice Clinic said, “We are excited about this opportunity. We have enjoyed a good working relationship with Dr. Dayton and the clinic for many years.
“This would provide services closer to home for many Hico residents and continue developing a strong primary care base in our area.”
Shafer said it is hoped that the final plans can be reached in the next few weeks.
