Local businesses, school closing for Memorial Day The Hamilton County Relay for Life last Friday night on the Hamilton square began with cancer survivors walking a lap around the courthouse square. Colorfully-clad Darrell and Kathy Kachilla enjoy the event. Staff Photo - Many local businesses and governmental offices will be closed next Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Hamilton City Hall and the Hamilton County Courthouse will be closed. All federal and state offices will be closed. The post office and all three local banks will also be closed. Local businesses that have announced they will be closed include The Herald-News, The Hamilton Rural Healthcare Clinic, Ken’s True Value and the Hamilton County Vet Clinic. The Vet Clinic will also be closed on Saturday. Classes will also not be held at the Hamilton Public Schools on Monday.
