There will be a come-and-go reception to honor Coach Chris Wilde at the Hamilton High School commons area Thursday, May 1 from 6-8 p.m. Wilde, who has served as head football coach and athletic director at Hamilton High School for the past 10 years, announced last week that he is leaving to accept the head football coaching position at 4A Saginaw, west of Fort Worth.
During his time at the helm of the Bulldog football team, he led them to the playoffs five times. His teams racked up two district championships, four bi-district titles and two area championships. Overall, he has a record of 64 wins and 47 losses in Hamilton, a school record for football wins.
He will be leaving for Saginaw following the state track meet on May 9-10, to lead the Roughriders during spring practice. 4A schools are allowed by the U.I.L. to have spring workouts.
