Traffic stop near Hico
leads to drug arrest

READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY - National Education Association Read Across America Day on March 3 is more than just a one-day celebration of reading on Dr. Seuss' birthday. It's an opportunity to focus on an initiative that promotes reading every day. Hamilton County RSVP likes to promote reading in Hamilton County. A local RSVP volunteer visited the Head Start classroom on March 3 and read a Dr. Seuss book to the children. Each child was given a book to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
- On Saturday, March 8 at around 8:30 p.m. Sgt. Kent Levisay and Deputy Justin Caraway stopped a 2006 Toyota SUV for speeding on U.S. Highway 281 South at mile marker 348 in Hamilton County. During the traffic stop Deputy Caraway found inside the vehicle 3.87 grams of cocaine and 21 grams of marijuana.
James Daryl Donahue, 46, of Kingsland, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) over one gram and under four grams. Donahue was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and booked into the jail for drug possession charges.
Bond was set at $25,000 by Judge James Lively, Hamilton County Justice of the Peace, Precinct One.
