EGG HUNTING? As the crowds were leaving Saturday morning from the Hamilton VFD Easter Egg Hunt, these three wild turkeys sailed across the south end of Pecan Creek Recreational Park and then walked down or perhaps turkey trotted down the hike and bike trail (above). A variety of wildlife can be found in the new park, including frequent visits by deer. Staff Photo

Local city and school elections will be held Saturday, May 10. Early voting begins April 28 and continues through May 6.
Incumbents Jon Mark Jester and Herman Lanmon Jr. are joined in the Hamilton I.S.D. Board race by Alan Watson and Kasey Kunkel. Three positions will be filled.
Mayor Roy Rumsey is seeking another term and is challenged by Stanley Morgan.
Mayor Rumsey issued the following announcement state-ment this week:
I am running for Mayor because I believe my 12 years experience, as Council mem-ber, Mayor Pro Tem and Mayor can be helpful to the City. I have served on Boards for United Care, Workforce Development, Economic De-velopment Corporation, as well as other entities, since I moved to Hamilton 25 years ago. My one concern now, and always will be, that everyone be treated fairly.
Sincerely,
Roy Rumsey
