STORM LEAVES DEAD BIRDS- After the deluge created by the remnants of tropical storm Edouard last Wednesday morning, several Hamilton residents reported finding hundreds of dead birds in their yards. More than 750 were found under trees in which they had been roosting at the home of Bryan and Toni Schrank on Coke Street (above). At least two other residents reported large numbers of dead birds. Marvin Schrank told The Herald-News that a cousin told him of a similar occurrence on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station a few years ago. He said that it happened after a triple digit day when heavy rains quickly dropped the temperatures, which would have been a similar scenario to what happened in Hamilton. Staff Photo
