The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has begun a project to modify a portion of Farm to Market road 1241 in Hamilton County.
The project, designed to in-crease safety and facilitate the smooth flow of traffic, from Farm to Market Road 932 to Hamilton County Road 410, will widen the existing travel lanes of FM 1241 to 12’ and add 2’ shoulders. Additionally, safety end-treatments, for cul-vert-ends at cross drainage lo-cations under the roadway and at adjoining private driveways, will be added within the nearly 6-mile project area.
The project which began on Aug. 4 is being undertaken by Jay Mills Contracting, Inc., of Stephenville, at a cost of just over $1 Million. It is scheduled for completion in early summer 2009, weather permitting.
