- Four Italian Cyprus trees were recently stolen from the Live Oak Cemetery. Maurine Parrish called The Herald-News Monday to report the thefts.
She said that about four weeks ago she and her husband David planted the trees at the entrance of the cemetery south of Hamilton off of FmRD 1241. The Parrishes live in Grandview, but still have relatives living in this area and several buried in the cemetery.
Maurine said that years ago an uncle planted some Cyprus trees at the entrance of the cemetery, but they eventually died. She and her husband planted the new trees to replace the dead ones.
The stolen trees are about four feet tall.
They discovered the trees were missing when visiting here over the holiday weekend. She reported the thefts to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office.
Anyone with information about the missing trees can contact the sheriff’s department at 254-386-8128 or the Parrish family at 817-866-2050.
