COMING DOWN- Volunteers began tearing down the old pig barn at Fair Park Monday in preparation for construction of a new barn. Don Jones and son, Carson, are shown Tuesday morning ripping off tin from the roof. Thanks to donations from the Hamilton EDC, City of Hico and a fundraiser that raised over $25,000, the Hamilton County Livestock Association plans to have the new barn constructed in time for the 2009 Hamilton County Youth Fair in early January. The old barn is 175x50 and the new one will be 175x100. The Hamilton EDC has pledged $50,000 and the City of Hico $25,000 . The construction cost has been estimated at $100,000. Staff Photo

The Hamilton County Grand Jury returned three indictments on June 20. An indictment does not signify guilt, only that the grand jury found enough cause to justify a trial.
The indictments returned were:
John Michael Kormos, driving while intoxicated, third or more, third degree felony;
James Daryl Donahue, possession of cocaine in an amount greater than one gram but less than four grams, third degree felony.
Jessica Lynn Meitzen, possession of cocaine in an amount less than one gram, state jail felony.
