Trustees hire
four teachers

GUEST SPEAKER- Jon McConal was a guest speaker last Thursday night at the Fine Arts Center in Hamilton. His talk was one in a series scheduled by the Hamilton Historical Com-mission throughout this year to commemorate Hamilton County’s sesquicentennial. McConal was a columnist with the Fort Worth Star Telegram for 40 years and has also written several books. His latest book, “A Walk Across Texas,” chronicles a 450-mile trek he and two cohorts made from the Texas Panhandle to Granbury. McConal also wrote “Bridges Over the Bra-zos.” Above, Jackson Hill, who is coordinating the speakers’ series, (right) took McConal (cen-ter) and his friend, driver and photographer for many of his books, Eddie Lane, to Pecan Creek Park to see the historic Bulman Bridge prior to his talk Thursday.
