I would like to know what is the meaning of "Paralysis" in English and what is the correct translation in Spanish?

Meaning of Paralysis
Paralysis is loss of muscle function for one or more muscles. Paralysis can be accompanied by a loss of feeling (sensory loss) in the affected area if there is sensory damage as well as motor. About 1 in 50 people have been diagnosed with some form of paralysis, transient or permanent. - See link


Paralysis in Spanish is Parálisis
La parálisis es una pérdida o disminución de la motricidad o de la contractilidad de uno o varios músculos, debida a lesiones de las vías nerviosas o de los mismos músculos. Si ésta es parcial se habla de paresia. Las parálisis de origen nervioso pueden ser centrales o periféricas. - See link
