Bruce Willis Bio
Hollywood is a global phenomenon. It enjoys movie premiers in foreign countries and has an international audience. There are some faces that are very popular in Hollywood, people who have helped Hollywood reach the level it is at today. One of those people would be Bruce Willis.  Walter Bruce Willis was the son of an American soldier and a Kassel born German. His mother, Marlene was a banker and had gave birth to him on the 19th of March in 1965. Bruce was the eldest of his four siblings. He was born in Idar Oberstein in West Germany but he moved with his father to Penn Grove, New Jersey. His father had procured a job there as a factory worker and young Willis attended Penns Grove High school. According to his school friends, he had quite the stutter problem, something he had overcome in his high school years. He had started acting in high school when he participated in the drama club and was also the student council president.

After he graduated from high school, he began working at Salem Nuclear power plant. After working there for some time, he enrolled himself into the Montclair State University where he studied the act of acting. However, he decided to leave college in his junior year and move to the cradle of theatre, New York City. He did not have much success there for the first couple of years as he had to work as a bartender. Ironically, it was in that bar that he met a casting director who hired him for a role in his movie.

Bruce Willis Movies
In the preceding years, he gained momentum in his acting career by taking part in the Off Broadway show, Sun and Heaven and Fool for Love. He also became more popular with his audience when he became a part of a Levis advertisement campaign.

Bruce Willis reached his legendary status when he accepted the role of police officer John McClain in the 1988 wildly popular action movie Die Hard. The role that he played and the dialogues that he delivered catapulted his career to unimaginable heights and are popular even today. The enormity of the first film’s success led to the filming of its sequels, Die Hard 2: Die Harder, Die Hard 3: Die Hard with a Vengeance and Live Free or Die Hard in 1990, 1995 and 2007 respectively. The films grossed over 700 million dollars in the box office. The latest sequel is scheduled to premiere in 2012.

Despite his success, his acting career slowed down a bit in the early 1990s as he made unpopular films such as Bonfire of the Vanities and Striking Distance. However, in 1996 he gained national popularity once again when he featured in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction in 1996. Bruce Willis’s repeated appearances and success in action films made him the action hero that he is today.

He also made guest appearances in several TV shows such as the 1990s comedy Friends. In fact his role there got him the award of outstanding guest actor. He went on to star with Matthew Perry, in the action comedy The Whole Nine Yards in 2000 where he played the role of Jimmy “The Tulip” Tudeski. In recent times, he has starred with Morgan Freeman in another action film Red where he played the role of a man trying to get rid of the ghosts of his murky past.

Bruce Willis is also a devoted Republican having supported the polices of George W. Bush and having openly condemned those of Bill Clinton. He was the guest speaker at the Republic National Convention in 2000 where he endorsed George W. Bush’s campaign.
His first wife was Demi Moore whom he had met at the premiere of Stakeout. He married her in 1987 and had three children with her until they got divorced in 2000. Moore married Aston Kutcher who became the step father of Willis’s children. Willis himself married Emma Heming in 2009.
